Security - FTP-NAT-Test

Logo

What does the test do?

The test will load a webpage containing a Java-Applet. Many internet browsers support this way of embedding small programs into webpages.
The applet will connect back to the server it was loaded from and will seemingly start an FTP connection.

By manipulating the content of that connection, you router might then allow our testserver to initiate arbitrary connections to your computer.

Important: Our server will only establish the connection just to immediately tear it down again - without transferring any data. However it could attack any service on your host. Do not run the test, unless you fully trust our server and the connection to it.

Start the test

If you want to contribute to the Routerlist, please fill in the "Routertype" field, before clicking on "Start Test".

We use the data you supply there to update the list of vulnerable devices from time to time.

Please do not change the other fields, unless you really know what you are doing!

These advanced options are explained on this page.

When you click on

Open Test Window

the applet will open in a new browser window. Resize it so that it can be viewed in parallel to the explanation of the results.
Tech people may want to view the source code of the applet.
